POETRY
This is a movement from my recently completed song
cycle, A Woman of the 21st Century.
At Peace III - More Green
How sweet the air!
I take it in like I have never before drawn breath.
My legs ache from use – such splendid pain!
The sun bright and clear no longer hidden
by billowing
clouds of smoke,
Rejoicing in colours bold unburdened by industrial haze.
My life needs more green, more blue.
The wind sings to me a gentle song
reminding that I am welcome to
join her when I seek
